In this video, we explain how the frame button is used to move the frame to a particular position on the machine. We may use it to return to the origin point after a power loss, or to move the pantograph out so we can better view our work. This can also help when placing applique fabric during a single applique design.
We then take a closer look at a common use for this function during sewing. If we are stitching an applique design and do not want to set up an offset for just one item, we can use the pantograph movement control to move the frame out after a section has finished sewing. We may also do this simply to inspect the stitches already sewn and confirm that the design is running properly.
To return to the exact place where sewing stopped, we press the frame button and review the available options. We do not select the center point, which is number two, or origin, and we do not make any changes related to power loss or angle. Instead, while the cursor is flashing on data origin, we press the set button. This returns the needle to the exact sewing position where we left off. We then press previous to exit the function and press start to resume sewing.
For SWF guidance on frame movement and returning to sew position, the SWF repair, maintenance, and operation DVD set is a practical next step.
