In this video, we set up the SWF control panel so the machine is ready to sew caps properly. After the cap driver has been installed, the hat has been hooped, and the hooped hat has been placed on the cap driver, we move to the control panel before calling in a design.
We select the Machine button, then go to Machine Function and press Set. The first function shown is Flat Cap. To sew caps, this setting must read Cap instead of Flat. We press Set to enter the function, where the panel indicates that 0 is used for flats and 1 is used for caps. Since we want to sew caps, we enter 1 and press Set to confirm the change.
Once the Flat Cap mode is set for caps, we press the Previous button twice to return to the main sewing screen. This change is important because when we call in a design, the machine will automatically rotate it to 180 degrees, which is the proper orientation for sewing a cap.
After switching into cap mode, the right hoops and hoopers can make hat setup much smoother.
