In this video, we explain the functions of the start and stop buttons on the SWF control panel. We use the stop button to stop the embroidery machine, and we also use it to back up stitches after a thread break or a bobbin run out. Depending on the machine settings, each press of the stop button may move the design back one stitch at a time.
We also use the stop button together with the float button to float backward through a design. It has another important function at the beginning of a design as well. If the design has finished sewing and we want to access a function like float, we need the machine to be in a sewing position, so pressing the stop button at the beginning brings us to the first stitch and allows us to use the float function.
We use the start button to begin sewing a design, and we also use it with the float button to float forward through the design. If we press and hold the start button without releasing it, the machine continues sewing at its INC, or inching, speed for as long as we hold the button down. This is especially useful when we are sewing close to a frame or when we are trying to match up where two sections meet.
If you want a practical SWF reference to go along with these start/stop controls, the SWF repair, maintenance, and operation DVD set is the closest match.
