In this video, we replace the trimmer solenoid by first removing the back deck on the control panel side of the machine. We take out the two screws on the back deck, then remove the two Phillips head screws located on the back of the machine just below the deck. We lift the back deck up over the bracket, then gently pull it toward us and wiggle it to release the spring clips. Once the deck is off, we locate the trimmer solenoid and remove its two Allen head screws, taking care not to drop them into the machine.
We then move to the non-control side of the machine and remove that back deck as well, again lifting it up and pulling it toward us to release the spring clips. This gives us access to the board connection for the solenoid. We remove the old solenoid, follow its wires across to the other side, remove the plastic safety shield, and disconnect the wire from the board. We then feed the new solenoid wire through carefully, connect it to the board, and reinstall the safety shield.
Next, we place the new solenoid where the old one was and push it in until it fits snugly. We check the plunger to make sure it engages properly and that we can feel resistance. Once the fit is confirmed, we start both Allen screws and verify the engagement again before tightening them down. Finally, we reinstall both back decks, line them up properly, and secure them with their screws. At that point, the trimmer solenoid replacement is complete.
Once the trimmer solenoid is replaced, run a few tests with consistent embroidery thread to confirm clean trims.
