How to Install an Embroidery Machine Needle Bar

In this video, we reinstall the needle bar by reversing the removal process. We bring the needle bar up through the bottom, making sure it is oriented properly so the remaining parts stay in place. Once it is up through the top, we prepare the spring, pull it down into position, and use the collar to hold the needle bar temporarily.

We then install the screw at the top of the needle bar, taking care not to cross-thread it. If the screw does not start easily, we back it off and start it again before tightening it fully. With the top secured, we begin reassembling the lower components by positioning the presser foot, installing the small collar, and replacing the screw that holds the presser foot in place. After that, we release the collar and allow the needle bar to come back up.

As a starting point, we line up the tops of the needle bars, since they generally align with one another. We then pull the bar down slightly to create room, reinstall the needle support, and make sure the rubber washer is not forgotten before starting the screw. Once that is secure, we reinstall the needle and move on to setting the needle depth.

After reinstalling the needle bar, the next thing to confirm is often your setup with fresh embroidery needles.
