How to Prepare for Rotary Hook Removal on an Embroidery Machine

In this video, we prepare the embroidery machine for rotary hook assembly removal by first taking off the needle plate. We use the offset screwdriver from the standard tool kit to remove the screws, taking care not to remove the front set screw of the needle plate.

We then remove the cover around the bobbin area by taking out the two Phillips head screws and lifting the cover away. Next, we move the picker out of the way without changing its adjustment. To do that, we remove the screw on the linkage, which allows the picker to fall clear.

After that, we loosen the basket support screws. We remove one screw completely and only loosen the other, then move the basket support aside. We take out the bobbin case, and finally loosen the screws on the side of the rotary hook assembly so the machine is ready for the next step.

Before removing the rotary hook, it’s useful to have basic embroidery supplies ready for the job.
