In this video, we show how to use the FDD Call function to bring in a design from the floppy disk drive when the design is being loaded for the first time and external input is not being used. We move the cursor down to FDD Call with the up and down buttons, and while the cursor is flashing on FDD Call, we press the Set button.
The machine then displays the designs stored on that disk. Using the up and down controls, we move the cursor to the design we want to sew and press Set. The machine then asks for an empty room number, which is the memory location. It automatically defaults to the earliest available room, and we press Set again to accept that room number.
The machine then reads the embroidery design. Depending on the file size, this can take a few seconds or up to nearly a minute for a large design. After the file is read, the machine begins design conversion, placing the file into a format the machine prefers to use. During this process, it may make small changes to some jump stitches and may add or delete a few stitches, so the final stitch count may differ slightly.
When the display returns to the list of file names, we press the Previous button. At that point, we can move into basic settings and needle settings as needed. After those settings are made, we press Previous again, and the design is ready to be sewn.
Once the design is loaded and assigned, you can prep for production with the right embroidery stabilizer.
