In this video, we explain how to use the design copy function to duplicate a design from one memory location into another. We use this when we want to keep the same design in two separate working files, such as one version for an adult left chest logo and another for a youth left chest logo where the size needs to be slightly different.
To copy the design, we use the up-down control to move the cursor next to Design Copy, then press the Set button. We then use the up-down control again to find the design we want to copy to another location. Once the correct file is selected, we press the Set button.
The control panel then shows the next available memory location. We press the Set button again, and the design is stored in that second location. If we press the Previous button, that design moves into the active sewing position. When we return to Embroidery Call, we can see that the same design now appears in both memory locations.
With the copy saved, we can open one version and make changes without affecting the other. In the example shown, we select the copied design and adjust settings such as size, pull compensation, or angle. For the adult and youth logo example, we would change the size in the basic settings functions so both versions remain available in memory as separate files.
After duplicating your design version, get ready to test stitch it with dependable pre-wound bobbins.
