Using the 7-in-1 Hoop for Hard-to-Hoop Items

In this video, we show how to use the optional 7-in-1 hoop to sew on hard-to-hoop items and to hoop standard items more quickly. With the 7-in-1 frames, we usually use backing that has adhesive on one side so the item can be laid onto the hoop and smoothed into place without shifting.

We first choose the desired hoop for the application. In this example, we select a half-circle hoop because we are hooping the back of a hat. We then place the sticky backing on the hoop with the adhesive side facing upward.

Next, we slide the 7-in-1 onto the tubular arms just as we would with any tubular hoop. We open any closure on the back of the hat, slide the back of the hat over the half-circle hoop, and do our best to center the middle seam with the middle of the hoop. Once aligned, we gently smooth out the fabric of the hat and it is ready to sew.
