In this video, we show how to remove the rotary hook assembly from the embroidery machine. We begin by setting the main shaft indicator to 100 degrees using the dial on the back of the machine. At that position, the first screw is exposed, and we loosen it.
We then roll the wheel to 160 degrees to expose the next screw, and we loosen that one as well. After that, we move to 200 degrees, which exposes the bottom screw. This is the primary adjustment screw used later when setting the timing on the rotary hook.
Once all of these screws have been loosened in sequence, the entire hook assembly comes out of the embroidery machine. From there, we can remove it for buffing, take the rotary hook assembly apart for cleaning, or replace it if a new one is needed.
Since rotary hook work usually goes hand in hand with lint removal, it makes sense to keep GPI's embroidery cleaning supplies nearby.
