How to Clean and Oil Your Commercial Embroidery Machine Rotary Hook

In this video, we show how to clean and oil the rotary hook on a commercial embroidery machine. Located under the needle plate, the rotary hook is one of the most important areas for daily care because it works harder than any other moving part.

We begin by removing the bobbin case so we can clean out any debris around the hook. We then use tweezers, if needed, to dislodge any threads that may have built up during the day, and we use canned air to blow out lint that naturally collects as the machine runs.

After cleaning, we apply two drops of oil to the rotary hook, preferably right at the V-groove as shown. We then leave the bobbin case out immediately after oiling, since oil in the bobbin area can lead to unwanted thread breaks.
