In this video, we show how to grease the area behind the embroidery head. We begin by moving the embroidery head to needle position 15 with the numeric keypad so the aluminum cover is exposed. We then remove the two screws holding that cover in place with a straight-slot screwdriver.
With the cover removed, we can see the cam inside. As we rotate the hand wheel, the cam moves up and down, making it easier to identify the part that needs grease. This is presented as the quick method for servicing this area.
For a more thorough greasing, we explain that the entire embroidery head can be removed for full access. For routine maintenance twice a year, we note that one service can be done by removing only the cover, while a later service can include removing the full embroidery head for more complete access.
To finish, we grease the cam behind the embroidery head beneath the color change motor. As in the earlier steps, we first remove the old grease and clean the area while turning the numbered hand wheel behind the machine until the cam is fully cleaned. We then apply a clean film of grease all the way around the entire cam using either a Q-tip or a finger. This completes the greasing procedure for the embroidery machine.
