In this video, we walk through how to grease the Y pantograph track. We begin by removing the table that covers the track on the top left-hand side of the machine, away from the control panel. There are six screws holding this table in place: three on the side, one in the front, and two in the back. We remove the side screws first, then the front screw, and finally the two rear metal screws located next to each other at the back of the machine.
With the screws removed, we lift off the table and set it aside. We then clean away the old grease using a towel or rag, lifting the belt to reach the rail and wiping the track thoroughly. We also clean out the surrounding area, since grease attracts lint, dust, and dirt that can build up around the track.
Once the old grease has been removed, we apply a light film of new grease to the track using a rag, a Q-tip, or a finger. We coat both sides of the rail, front and back, as well as the top edge. We then move the pantograph forward and backward to help work the grease in and expose the rest of the track.
Next, we move the pantograph to the extreme left so we can grease the other end of the Y track. We apply a smooth film across the entire track on all three sides, then continue moving the pantograph forward and backward until the grease is worked in. After that, we reinstall the covers and repeat the same process on the other side.
