In this video, we adjust the lettering by selecting the full line and using the keyboard arrow keys to move it closer to “Forte.” We also review an important cap-digitizing guideline: keeping the design height controlled. In this example, the height is shown at 1.52 inches, and we note that it should stay close to 2 to 2.2 inches maximum when working on caps.
Next, we add a line under the word “Forte.” Because we are digitizing for a cap, we work from the center out. We begin with a running stitch using a straight line, placing the cursor at the center under the word, then holding the Shift key to create a straight segment to the left under the “F.” After that, we use a Steil stitch with a straight line from that point back toward the center. We then open the Steil stitch properties and set the width to 0.157 inches, the density to 55, keep the fill type as satin fill, enable underlay with a narrow zigzag, and set the rows per inch to 19.
We repeat the same process on the right side, again working from the center out and slightly overlapping in the center area. To make alignment easier, we switch to wireframe mode. After creating the running stitch and Steil stitch on the right side, we apply the same Steil stitch settings. If the line is still slightly off, we zoom in, select the object, and use the keyboard arrow keys to move it into position.
Finally, we add a question mark to the right side using the same font. We set the size to 1.25 inches, keep the density settings the same, change the stitch length to 0.1575 inches, and under the underlay settings select narrow column. We then change the width to 70 percent, keep the density at 1.5 mm, leave the sewing direction unchanged, and confirm the settings.
