In this video, we demonstrate how to properly grease the machine as part of a routine maintenance schedule. We grease the machine every three months, and we make sure the machine is turned off before beginning. The tools used are white lithium-based grease and a Phillips head screwdriver.
We service five greasing points on this machine: the Y-linear way left side, the Y-linear way right side, the X-linear way, the case-linear, and the cam rollers. To grease the Y-linear ways, we remove the front base cover and the rear base cover with the Phillips screwdriver. Each side has seven screws, for a total of 14 screws, and we repeat the same process on both sides before placing a light coat of grease on each Y-linear way with a finger.
To grease the X-linear way, we remove the X covers using the Phillips screwdriver and take out the four screws. We then place a light coat of grease on the X-linear way with a finger. The case-linear is located directly behind the head, and for this step we place the machine on needle position 1 or 15 before applying a light coat of grease.
To move to needle position 1 through 15, we press the auto-manual key, then press the color change key to advance through the needle positions, and press set to confirm the setting. Afterward, we depress the auto-manual key. The cam rollers are also located directly behind the head, and with the machine on needle 1 or 15, we place a coat of grease on each of the 15 cam rollers.
