In this video, we show how to fix a needle case error on a Toyota ESP 9100. When we turn the machine on, we should always see a number or a letter inside the brackets in the lower-right corner of the control panel.
If we see a dash inside the brackets instead, this means the head has become misaligned with the throat plate. When that happens, the needle will not go down through the center of the throat plate, and the machine will display what is called a needle case error.
To correct this common error, we simply turn the manual handwheel behind the head of the machine until a number or letter appears inside the brackets. Once we see a number or letter there again, we have effectively cleared the needle case error.
After correcting a needle case error, it's worth checking that you're using fresh embroidery needles.
