In this video, we explain what a limit error means on the Toyota ESP 9100 and why it usually appears while tracing in cap mode. A limit error generally points to one of two issues: the design is too large for the style of cap being used, or the hat has been positioned incorrectly because the center point was set too low or too high.
We review the maximum sewing height for common cap styles. For an unconstructed or unstructured cap, the maximum sewing height is about 2.15 inches. For a low-profile constructed or structured cap, the maximum sewing height is about 2.3 inches. If the design is within those limits for the cap style being embroidered, the problem is more likely related to positioning.
When the machine displays the limit error after pressing the Trace key, we can press Stop to acknowledge the error. Then we press Start Point to return to the original center point that was set. From there, we use the up or down arrow keys to readjust the center point on the hat, and then press Trace again to check whether the error has been corrected.
If cap mode limit errors keep coming back, review your setup with the right hoops and hoopers.
