In this video, we continue Part 4 of the Toyota ESP 9100 LED control panel series by reviewing several important machine functions. From the Data menu, we can scroll to Initial Memory. If the machine is set to multi-memory mode, this option allows us to clear the stitch memory. We press Set, confirm that we want to delete all data, and then press Set again. The machine clears its RAM memory and returns to the input screen, making the total stitch memory available again.
We then look at the Forward and Back keys along with the Mode key. These controls let us move through a design by one stitch at a time, or by pressing Mode, by 10 stitches, 100 stitches, color changes, or to a specific stitch number. For example, we can enter stitch number 14731, press Set, and the hoop will travel to that exact stitch. The default setting is one stitch, and it is generally best to leave it there. We can also advance or reverse one stitch at a time, or hold the Forward or Back key for three seconds to move automatically until the next color change.
The Trimming key performs a manual trim during a design. This is helpful if a trim error occurs and the thread does not cut cleanly the first time. Using the trim function again often produces a clean second cut. The Move Hoop key shifts the frame to a preset position so we can work on the item without being directly under the machine head. Pressing Move Hoop again returns the hoop to center or back to its previous position in the design.
We also review the color change buttons and the Auto/Manual button. In manual change mode, we can cycle through the needles, select the desired needle number, and press Set to move the head to that position. This is useful when oiling the machine, and it should be turned off when finished. The Start Point button returns us to the starting point of the last design sewn, or to the input screen when preparing to load a new job. Finally, the speed knob adjusts sewing speed from 100 stitches per minute up to 1,200 stitches per minute in flat mode or 1,000 stitches per minute in cap mode. The Emergency Stop halts the needle bar mid-stroke, and to release it, we turn the knob and press Set.
If manual needle changes are part of your workflow, keep the right replacements on hand with embroidery needles.
