In this video, we walk through the hoop key menu and the settings available under each position. We begin with hoop mode in position 1, where we press the hoop key, highlight the setting with the arrow keys, and select flat, cap, or sleeve. After pressing set to confirm, the machine moves to the start point and the LCD shows embroidery start mode.
We then review initialization and start point behavior. With position 2 in the hoop menu, we select on or off for initialization; when set to on, the machine moves to the initial position by pressing set with the power on, and at power-up the machine automatically searches for coordinates 0, 0. In position 3, we choose how the machine returns to the embroidery start point after a design is completed by selecting manual or auto. In manual mode, we press the start point key to return to the start position, while auto returns automatically when stitching is finished.
Next, we adjust hoop movement settings that can affect operation and sew quality. In position 4, we set the manual hoop speed to 1, 2, or 3, with higher numbers producing a slower hoop drive speed. In position 5, we adjust hoop timing by selecting auto or 250 degrees; auto is the preset value for standard operation, while timing adjustments can help improve sewing quality on certain fabrics.
Finally, we use the move hoop, or offset, function in position 6. We press the move hoop key to move to the offset coordinates, use the arrow keys to place the hoop in a new position, and press set to lock in the offset. To return the offset coordinates to 0, 0, we press clear. Once the new offset is stored, we choose manual or auto: manual allows the hoop to move to the offset position when the move hoop key is pressed, while auto sends the hoop to that offset automatically after the design finishes stitching.
If you're dialing in hoop settings and offsets, it helps to start with the right hoops and hoopers.
