How to Install the Thread Rack on an SWF 1501 Embroidery Machine

In this video, we show how to assemble and install the thread rack, also referred to as the thread tree, on an SWF 1501 embroidery machine. We begin by locating the two rods and the hardware, including the larger Allen head screws with washers for attaching the top of the thread tree to the rods, as well as the smaller set screws used to mount the assembly on the machine.

We first assemble the thread tree by inserting one rod into the top of the tree and tightening it in place with an Allen head screw using a 4 mm Allen wrench. We then repeat the same procedure with the second rod. Once both rods are secured to the top of the thread tree, we set the assembled unit aside for the next step.

We then start the four small set screws on the machine, making sure not to tighten them too much at this stage, since the rods still need to slide into place. With the set screws started, we place the assembled thread tree onto the machine so the rods drop into position. Once everything is aligned, we tighten the set screws fully, using the Allen wrench first for speed and then for additional leverage to secure them. The thread tree is then fully assembled and installed.

Once your rack is installed, you can stock it with embroidery cones from GPI's Madeira thread collection.
