How to Set Up the Tubular Arms for Round Embroidery Hoops

In this video, we show how to install the tubular arms so the machine can sew on flat or tubular items. We begin by locating the two tubular arms, the four Allen head screws, the 4 mm Allen wrench, and one of the hoops that will be used for setup. In this example, we are setting the machine up for the 9, 12, 15, and 18 cm round hoops.

Looking at the pantograph from the control panel side of the machine, we do not use the outermost holes on the right for this setup. Instead, we install the right arm in the holes one position in, place the arm, insert the Allen head screws, and only seat them without tightening. On the left side, the holes used for the 9, 12, 15, and 18 cm hoops are a different set than the large jacket back position. The outermost holes on both the left and right sides are used only with the border frame.

Once both arms are installed in the correct positions, we snug the screws slightly but leave them loose enough for adjustment. We then place the hoop into the arms, push the arms snug against the hoop, and gently pull toward us. With the arms held in alignment, we tighten one screw on the right arm, then one screw on the left arm, and finally tighten the remaining two screws. At that point, the machine is set up to sew tubular.

For round hoop setups on tubular arms, compare compatible hoops and hoopers.
