How to Install Leveling Bolts on an SWF Embroidery Machine

In this video, we install the leveling bolts and absorption pads onto an SWF embroidery machine. We begin by taking each leveling bolt and threading the nut all the way down, repeating this for the full set of bolts before installing them on the machine.

Because the machine is heavy, we recommend having a second person help lift it while a support is slid underneath to take the load off. A box from the accessories, a board, or a jack can be used as support. As we do this, we make sure not to reach under the machine, since the support could shift or collapse and cause injury to hands or feet.

With the weight supported, we thread each leveling bolt into the machine. A large adjustable wrench is recommended, especially if the threads are tight from paint buildup. After all four bolts are installed and tightened up, we gently lower the machine back down, keeping feet clear as the weight settles onto the bolts and pads.

Finally, we place the absorption rubber pad, tighten the bolt down so it seats firmly, and then relieve some of the weight while a second person turns the bolt until the machine is level. We check level at the back right-hand corner of the machine in both the vertical and horizontal directions until the machine is completely level.
