In this video, we show how to replace the presser foot on a Tajima Neo. We begin by removing the lower thread guide after loosening the two screws that hold it in place. We then remove the needle, the needle clamp, and the O-ring. After that, we remove the screw that secures the presser foot and take off the presser foot.
We next install the new presser foot and push the needle bar down until it clicks into place. We then reinstall the O-ring, needle bar clamp, and needle. To set the presser foot height, we turn the manual knob until the presser foot is at its lowest point. We loosen the presser foot screw and place a gauge under the presser foot. The gap between the presser foot and the needle plate should be between 0.5 and 1.0 millimeters.
We then push down lightly on the presser foot and tighten the screw. After removing the gauge, we return the machine to the stop position by turning the manual knob. We reinstall the lower thread guide with the two mounting screws. After adjusting the presser foot height, we bring the needle bar up to the stop position by turning the machine on and performing a manual thread trim. To perform a manual thread trim, we press the ATH button and then install the faceplate.
Because presser foot work goes hand in hand with needle-area setup, the most relevant supplies to check are embroidery needles.
