What is a USB Linker, and is it different then a USB to Serial converter? Also why wouldn't a USB to Serial converter work? I can pick 1 up for $50.00. I currently send my designs through my computer via serial cable to my embroidery machine and that works fine.


SWF east did tested the FDD replacement device (USB) during the your 2007. Overall it works pretty well.

There is only two negatives,

1. The USB Device, can only be turned on and off with the entire machine, So you have to reset the whole machine.
The USB Linker has its own on/off switch.

2. And most Important. If any updates are needed for your A,B, and C series machines (software) or we need send a DCF boot disk You will have to re-install your normal FDD drive.

The USB Linker works through all machines serial ports. never effecting the FDD that is installed in the machine.

Again, Not right or wrong, and there is a couple of hundred difference, between the devices. and both will work well.
